FAQs

Good questions

Everything people usually ask before their first session. Anything else, just message.

Do I need to play sport to book?

No. Treatment suits anyone with pain, discomfort or tension in day-to-day life: people who train in the gym, play sport, do a physical job, or simply need the stress taken out of their body.

What happens at my first session?

We start with a quick chat about what is going on, your training or work, and any injuries or medical conditions, then it is straight into treatment. Please tell us about any conditions or injuries when you book, and mention anything new before the session starts.

Does sports massage hurt?

It can go deep and feel uncomfortable at times, but it is never meant to be painful. You are in control of the pressure throughout, so say the word and it is adjusted.

Will cupping leave marks?

Usually, yes. Dry cupping leaves round marks where the cups were. They are not bruises, are not painful, and fade within a few days. Let us know if you have a holiday or an event coming up and we can plan around it.

What should I wear?

Something comfortable you can move in. Shorts are ideal for lower-body work. You are covered with towels throughout, with only the area being treated uncovered.

How do I pay?

Pay at your appointment by card or cash. Nothing is taken online when you book.

What if I need to cancel or move my appointment?

Please give at least 24 hours notice so the slot can go to someone else. You can cancel from the link in your confirmation email up to 24 hours before. Any later than that, please get in touch by phone or WhatsApp.

Where are you based?

Inside House of Beauty, 7 East End, Stokesley TS9 5DP. Appointments are at the clinic only; we do not do home visits.

How often should I come?

It depends on you. People in heavy training often come every couple of weeks, while others book in monthly to stay on top of aches. We will suggest what makes sense for you at your first session.
